Open Government Laws

Open government laws, often called Sunshine laws, were created to ensure government transparency. These laws give citizens access to meetings, electronic communications, and records by using the Open Records Request process.

An excellent resource page containing information on Open Meetings and Open Records Acts, to include a link for reporting violations, can be found HERE.

A template for requesting records via an Open Records Requests can be found HERE. Simply modify the template to meet your needs and send it to Amanda Moody (amanda.moody@ccboe.net) to be forwarded to the custodian of records.
